Greetings and blessings,
I received with pleasure your letter of 16 Shevat, which followed a long interruption. You tell me how you earn your livelihood, how you study Torah, and you conclude by stating that the workers of the factory that employs you are not observant.
If one considers what is explained at length by Tanya* — the fact that every Jew possesses a hidden love for Hashem and therefore also a yirah*, inherited from our ancestors — one can conclude that it suffices for you to arouse what these men possess deep within. And the spirit of life will turn this spark into a great flame, which will illumine their bodies and their nefesh habahamis*, then their homes and their environment.
Your material needs are largely provided for thanks to this factory. It must therefore also concentrate your spiritual needs in the manner just described. If you act in this direction with zerizus*, you will know success.
In addition to the studies you have set and which you mention in your letter, you surely study the laws applying to daily life, which are mostly found in Orach Chaim. May Hashem grant you success in all this.

לאחרי הפסק הארוך נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מט"ז שבט בו כותב אודות מצב פרנסתו וכן ע"ד השיעורים שלו ומסיים שבבית החרושת שם עובד הנה העובדים שמה אינם פרומע.
הנה נשען על המבואר בתניא בארוכה איך שכל אחד מישראל יש לו אהבה מסותרת ונכלל בה גם דחילו והיא ירושה לנו מאבותינו, א"כ הרי אינם חסרים אלא מעורר שיגלה בפניהם את הנקודה פנימית שלהם וע"י הרוח חיים נעשה מניצוץ זה אבוקה גדולה שתאיר את הגוף ונפש הבהמית שלהם ואחרי זה גם ביתם וסביבתם, וכיון שפרנסתו הגשמית באה לו עכ"פ בחלקה הגדול בבית החרושת זה הנה קרוב לאמר שגם פרנסתו ברוחניות מקומה שם והוא ע"י הנ"ל וכשעושים במרץ המתאים מצליחים...
בודאי הנה נוסף על השיעורים שיש לו שמזכיר במכתבו יש לו ג"כ שיעור בלימוד הלכות הנוגעות בחיי היום יומים אשר רובם ככולם בחלק אורח חיים והשי"ת יצליחו בכל הנ"ל.
