To the rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

who devotes himself to a sacred mission and to communal

needs, Rav Saadyah[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your two letters from Midelt[2]. I was especially pleased to learn that you are concretely seeing the brachos that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may his merit protect us, grants you. Indeed, the question of the teachers and the other problems have been resolved.

May Hashem grant that you behold with your own eyes success in all areas, always and every day. May He grant each of us to be the proper channels — the intermediaries who connect, and not[3] — chas veshalom*.

I was particularly pleased to learn that you have begun to influence families as well. As I wrote to you some time ago, it is clear that one must find the means to radiate also into the region of Midelt.

A package of several hundred Tanyas* recently printed here has been sent to you. The number will be specified to you, and this will also be useful for your activities.

With my blessing for success in your sacred mission and awaiting your good news,

N.B.: Regarding the manner of teaching the children, the frequency of this teaching and that of the meals, as well as the organization of classes for separating boys and girls, two principles must be observed:

A) The local people must not get the impression that one is permitting them what they did not previously do[4]. Therefore such a separation, which is natural in this region from a certain age, is an absolute necessity.

B) One must not show oneself overly strict[5]. You will therefore organize the activity accordingly. And it would be good to adopt the same mode of organization for all the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak institutions in Morocco.

נעם לי לקבל שני מכתביו ממידלעט, והעיקר אשר כבר ראה במוחש שמשפיע כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר עלה בידו לתקן בענין המורים ושאר הענינים. והשי"ת יצליחו לראות במוחש המשכת ההצלחה בכל ענינים הנ"ל תכה"י, ויזכה השי"ת את כאו"א מאתנו להיות צנורות מתאימים וממוצעים המחברים (ולא כו' ח"ו).

נהניתי במאד ממ"ש ע"ד התחלת השפעה גם על בע"ב, וכמו שכתבתי לו מכבר...

מובן ג"כ שצריך לחפש עצות ודרכים איך להשפיע גם על סביבות מידלעט...

נשלחה מכאן חבילה של איזה מאות ספר התניא, שהו"ל זה לא כבר כאן, ומספר טופסים מהם יושלח גם לו, ובמילא ישמש גם זה סיוע בכל הנ"ל...

בענין אופן ותכיפות הלימוד עם הקטנים ואכילתם, וכן מסידור כתות נפרדות של ילדים וילדות - הנה על שתי נקודות יש לשמור:

א) שלא יהי' לתושבי המקום מקום לומר באנו מקדושה חמורה לקדושה קלה (ובלאה"כ פירוד הנ"ל, הנה מגיל ידוע - מתאים לטבע אנשי המקום - מוכרח הוא).

ב) ניט איבערציען די סטרונע - ובהתאם להנ"ל יסדר הענינים, ומה טוב אם היתה שיטה אחת בהנהגה בזה לכל מוסדות אהלי"י אשר במרוק.
