Igrot Kodesh · Letter 2415 — Community

Volume 8 · Letter 170

B"H,

17 Shevat 5714,

Brooklyn,

Greetings and blessings,

You are carrying out a sacred mission within a shul. You therefore surely know the explanation[1] of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, which he gave in the name of the Tzemach Tzedek*. The latter said to someone:

"The verse says: 'He called the sun[2] and the light shone.' Thus, one who is occupied with a shul must illuminate it. To this end, it must remain open for a large part of the day. Public shiurim of Torah will be instituted there, and the community will also recite Tehillim* there."

May Hashem help you that you may achieve this without difficulty and thereby fashion the channel by which you will obtain blessing and success in all that concerns you personally.

With my blessing,

For the Rebbe shlita*,

the secretary,
