Hilula of my father-in-law, the Rebbe,

may his merit protect us,

To all who have gathered to take part

in the fourteenth annual banquet, in the United States,

of the central organization of Yeshivos Lubavitch,

may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

This annual banquet of the central organization of Yeshivos Lubavitch takes place a few days after the hilula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may his merit protect us. He is the founder of the Yeshivos Lubavitch in America. This banquet is therefore marked by the moral inspiration that these days suggest to each of those who have the merit of being bound to the grand and eternal accomplishments of the tzaddik*, leader of this generation, whose merit protects us.

On the day of the hilula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I extend my greetings and my blessing to all who have gathered and who take part in this annual banquet of Yeshivos Lubavitch.

The words and the deeds of tzaddikim* are immutable.

Yeshivos Lubavitch are part of the great and eternal heritage that the one whose hilula* we celebrate has bequeathed and entrusted to us, that we may protect, enlarge, and develop it.

Indeed, life manifests itself by developing and growing. That which is inscribed in the domain of holiness in particular is ever more intense. Like all that lives, Yeshivos Lubavitch — thank Hashem — spread Torah and yiras Shamayim*. They form a generation imbued with mesirus nefesh* for Torah and the practice of mitzvos*, not only within their own framework, but for all of Jewish life, in America and elsewhere.

These yeshivos must be able to continue to seize every opportunity to develop and grow.

This is why I address to each of you an urgent and fervent request: to commit yourselves personally and to invite others to bring the largest possible contribution to Yeshivos Lubavitch, so that these institutions may pursue their sacred work without difficulty and without obstacles resulting from a difficult financial situation, so that they may develop and broaden, to the fullest extent possible, quantitatively and qualitatively.

My father-in-law, the Rebbe, when he was in this world, brought blessing and success to all who turned to him, particularly to those who took part in his sacred work.

At the present time, he continues his mission Above. He invokes divine mercy in order to dispense blessing and success generally to all who keep open the channels permitting their attainment, and more particularly to those who bring their participation to his institutions and follow his path.

Without a doubt, he will continue to grant blessing and success to the participants, to their wives and to the members of their families, so that each obtains the fulfillment of his needs — children, health, and material prosperity.
