Igrot Kodesh · Letter 2402 — Tzedakah

[Telegram on the occasion of 10 Shevat]

To the association of Tzeirei Chabad,

I ask you kindly to convey to our Kfar[1], to our institutions and to our shuls in the Holy Land that one must take advantage of the day of the hilula*[2] and the Shabbos that follows it to strengthen and develop public learning, the dissemination of chassidus* and its customs in the most varied circles.

From this one will also draw inspiration, for the descent of the soul into the body is indeed a vertiginous fall, yet it is precisely through it that one can attain a wondrous elevation. For the shepherd has not abandoned his flock.

אגודת וצעירי חב"ד. בבקשה למסור לכפרנו למוסדותינו ולבתי כנסיותנו שבאה"ק לנצל יום ההילולא והשבת שלאחריו לחזוק והרחבת השיעורים ברבים הפצת תורת הדא"ח והדרכותי' בחוגים היותר שונים, ולהתעוררות שהנשמה בגוף ירידה עצומה היא, אבל דוקא על ידה אפשרית העלי' הנפלאה, ולא עזב הרועה את צאן מרעיתו.
