To the association of the women and girls of Chabad

of the city of Cleveland,

may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and abundant blessings,

I was pleased to learn from your letter that an association of the women and girls of Chabad was established at the beginning of this week in Cleveland. May Hashem grant you success — and indeed it will be so, through the accomplishments of the members and the leaders. Thus you will yourselves carry out, with the members of your family, what is necessary for this, in accordance with the teachings of our holy masters whose merit will protect us, and for our generation, of its leader, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose hilula* is tomorrow. May his merit protect us.

Furthermore, you will broaden your circle by drawing in other women, descendants of Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov.

You know the explanation of the Alter Rebbe*[1] that chassidus* is addressed not to a particular category of the Jewish people, but to all of Yisrael. Whoever — man or woman — acts to put his will[2] into practice, in accordance with what the Alter Rebbe* says[3], receives the assurance that our masters will grant him success in this accomplishment.

Naturally, when you experience success in this spiritual undertaking, you will also receive blessing and prosperity in the material domain, for yourselves and your families. May Hashem grant you this success.

With my blessing for each of you, with all the members of the family, in all your material and spiritual needs,
