Greetings and blessings,
I reply to your letter of Wednesday, which reached me at the conclusion of Shabbos*. I will repeat here what I transmitted orally to your brother-in-law. As you know, in such a case one first tries to flush what one has in one's kidneys [1] by drinking a great deal, particularly the appropriate beverages in this matter.
You do not speak of any of this in your letter, and so you must not have, for the moment, tried this manner of acting. I am surprised that you have not done so, but it is not too late for that. To my knowledge, it is only after having done this that one envisages removing what is in the kidneys with a suitable instrument [2].
May Hashem send you a speedy and complete recovery! You will then be able to devote yourself to the study of the revealed part of the Torah* and chassidus* in good health and with broad-mindedness.

במענה על מכתבו מיום ד' שנתקבל במוצש"ק, הנני כופל מה שמסרתי לגיסו שי' בעל פה, אשר כפי שידוע הנה במקרים כמו אלה מנסים מתחלה לשטוף
(אראפשוויינקען) את הנמצא בכליות ע"י שמרבים בשתי' בכלל ובשתי' של משקים מתאימים בפרט, וממה שאינו מזכיר עד"ז במכתבו, כנראה שלא עשו זה לעת עתה, ולכאורה פלא סיבת הדבר, ואפשר שגם עתה עדיין יוכלו לנסות את זה, כי לפי ידיעתי רק לאחר שמנסים הנ"ל חושבים אז ע"ד להוציא הנמצא בכליות ע"י כלי המתאים, והשי"ת ישלח לו רפו"ק ורפו"ש ויוכל לעסוק בתורת הנגלה ובתורת החסידות מתוך בריאות הנכונה והרחבת הדעת.
