To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Avraham Mordechai[1], the shochet*,

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter of the 19th of Sivan, in which you tell me that you had the merit of seeing the holy face of the Rebbe Rashab* and of hearing him expound the Torah*. According to your letter, this took place on Shavuos*, but you state that you have not retained the memory of what he said.

Nevertheless, various texts establish what the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya* and of the Shulchan Aruch*, lays down as halachah*, in his hilchos* Talmud Torah*, chapter 2, paragraph 10. There it is said:

"In the World to Come, one will recall all the explanations of Torah* that one forgot inadvertently. Already at present, these are elevated. For forgetfulness emanates from the forces of evil, and it can reach only the Heavenly Throne[2]. From this one may conclude that what one has studied is, on high, totally delivered from the grip of forgetfulness."

When I find myself near the holy tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may his merit protect us, I will read your request for a brachah*, in accordance with your wish. May Hashem grant that you report good news to me, regarding all that is mentioned therein.

I enclose for you an excerpt from the sichah* of the Shabbos* that blesses the month of Sivan, whose content is, in fact, relevant throughout the year. For the Torah* is given, and therefore received, every day. This is why we recite the brachah* "Who gives the Torah," in the present tense. It would be good to disseminate its message in the broadest circles, in the most appropriate manner.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מי"ט סיון, בו כותב איך שזכה לראות את פני הקדש של כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע וגם לשמוע ממנו תורה. כיון שכפי מכתבו הי' זה בחג השבועות, ואף שכנראה ממכתבו אינו זוכר בבירור התורה ששמע, אבל הרי ידוע המובא בכמה מקומות והביא זאת רבינו הזקן בעל השו"ע והתניא לפסק הלכה בהלכות ת"ת שלו (פרק ב' סעיף יו"ד) וז"ל: לעתיד לבוא יזכירוהו כל לימוד ששכח מחמת אונסו כו' וגם עתה הנה זאת התורה היא העולה למעלה כו' השכחה באה מצד הקליפה ואינה מגעת לינק אלא עד הכסא כו'. שמזה מובן שלמעלה בתורתו לא שלטה השכחה כלל וכלל.

כבקשתו הנה כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אקרא את הפ"נ שלו. ויה"ר מהשי"ת שיוכל לבשר טוב בכל הענינים שאודותם כתב בהפ"נ.

מוסג"פ קטע משיחת ש"ק מברכים סיון, אשר באמת תוכנו כל השנה זמנו הוא, מאחר שנתינת התורה ובמילא גם קבלת התורה היא בכל יום, וכנוסח הברכה נותן התורה לשון הווה. ומהראוי לפרסם תוכנו בחוגים היותר רחבים באופן המתאים.
