I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 4 Sivan, by which you seek my opinion to set the date of your son's wedding. I am surprised that you do not formulate any proposal on this subject.

You raise this question on behalf of the parents on both sides, and in my view, you should therefore celebrate this wedding in this coming Elul or Kislev. It is, nevertheless, preferable that it be in Elul, especially if you have agreed that the wedding be celebrated in 5713.

Whatever your decision, this will be in a good and propitious moment. They will build an everlasting edifice based on Torah and mitzvos*, as they are illuminated by the lamp of Torah, that is, Chassidus*.

במענה על מכתבו מיום ד' סיון, בו שואל חוו"ד אודות קביעות זמן החתונה של בנם... שי', ולפלא שאינו מזכיר במכתבו כל הצעה בזה. וכיון ששואל בשם המחותנים משני הצדדים הרי לדעתי לקבוע הזמן בחדש אלול או בחדש כסלו הבע"ל. ויותר נראה לי בחדש אלול הבע"ל, ובפרט אם הזכירו שיהי' בשנת ה'תשי"ג. ואיך שיקבעו יהי' בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ולבנין עדי עד על יסודי התורה והמצוה כפי שהם מוארים במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות.
