By the grace of Hashem,

28 Iyar 5713,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter, informing me that your birthday will be the second day of Shavuos*, which is approaching.

No doubt you will adopt the practices established for this occasion[1]. You shall therefore say Tehillim*, study a maamar* and recite it by heart in public, on the very day or on the following Shabbos*. On erev* the festival, you shall give tzedakah* before the tefillos* of Shacharis* and Minchah*.

May Hashem grant that you fill yourself with yiras Shamayim*, be a chassid* and a scholar, and settle yourself in a fitting manner, materially and spiritually.

With my brachah* to receive the Torah b'simchah u'vipnimiyus*,

N.B.: I enclose an excerpt[2] of the sichah* delivered during the Shabbos* that blesses the month of Sivan. No doubt you will diffuse it in the appropriate manner.

הנה בטח ינהג בהסדר הידוע בזה, לאמר ספר תהלים, לימוד מאמר דא"ח וחזרתו בעל פה ברבים אם ביום זה או בשבת שלאחריו, ונתינת צדקה בערב החג לפני תפלת שחרית ומנחה, והשי"ת יצליחו להיות ירא שמים חסיד ולמדן ולהסתדרות בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
