To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I would like to know what the talmidim*[2] who came here related, upon their return, at the yeshivah* of Montreal. I would like to know, in particular, what they said to their friends. For, after all, they may have been touched only superficially, and only an effort, showing that this is their moral and even physical good, will allow this acquisition to become deep.

You must explain all this to the talmidim*, according to their nature, to each one individually — which makes possible greater closeness — or, on the contrary, to all of them together, which is the means of being more incisive, since you are addressing the collective and not someone in particular.

On the occasion of the festival days, which are approaching, for us and for all Yisrael*, for the good, I extend to you, by means of the present letter, my blessing for a kosher* and joyous Pesach*.

And may the long-awaited promise be fulfilled, that "as in the days of your going out from Mitzrayim*, I will show you wonders," with our true and complete redemption, in your lifetime and in ours, through our righteous Moshiach*.

... אתענין לדעת מסיפורי התלמידים שי' שביקרו כאן בחזירתם להישיבה במאנטרעאל, ובעיקר מה שסיפרו להחברים שלהם, שלאחר ככלות הכל, אפשר שכ"ז ישאר עליהם בדרך מקיף ורק בהשתדלות תלוי הדבר שהענין יתקבל בפנימיות לטוב להם לא רק ברוחניות אלא גם בגשמיות, ומתאים למהות התלמידים הנה עליו להסביר להתלמידים אם בדבור עם כל אחד בפני עצמו, שאז יכול לדבר נאהענטער או שאדרבה עם כולם ביחד שאז אפשר לדבר שארפער כיון שאין מבליטים איש אחד אלא מדברים עם רבים.

ולקראת ימי החג הבאים עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג הפסח כשר ושמח.

ולקיום היעוד המקווה כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות, בגאולתנו האמיתית והשלימה, בימיו ובימינו ע"י משיח צדקנו.
