To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem*,

Rav Tzvi,[1]

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter of the Sunday of Parshas Tzav, in which you describe to me your settling and your activities in Eretz HaKodesh*. No doubt you take part in a chassidic farbrengen* from time to time, although you do not speak of it in your correspondence. This cannot be replaced by anything else, as is established by the sichos*, which you have surely consulted, of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us.

I conveyed your regards to my mother, the Rabbanis* shetichyeh*. She was happy to learn what has happened to you. She remembers your entire family perfectly, and even recounted to me several episodes concerning you personally.

I see that you are a publisher. No doubt you take advantage of this to intensify the light of the Torah* and of Jewish practice in our Eretz HaKodesh*. You know the saying of the Tzemach Tzedek*[2] that what is printed concerns all generations. From this one may derive the merit and the responsibility incumbent upon a publisher.

In accordance with your request, when I find myself near the holy ohel* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, I will mention your name and the names of the members of your household, that you may obtain the satisfaction of all your needs.

On the occasion of the festival days that are approaching, for us and for all Yisrael*, for the good, I extend to you, by means of the present letter, my blessing for a kosher* and joyous Pesach*.

And may the long-awaited promise be fulfilled, that "as in the days of your going out from Mitzrayim*, I will show you wonders," with our true and complete redemption, in your lifetime and in ours, through our righteous Moshiach*.

P. S.: To answer your question, I am interested in all books that deal, in any manner whatsoever, with Jews and Judaism. Many people have taken up the practice of sending to my library everything they write or publish.

I do not have a fund to cover such expenses. But, for those who wish, my library exchanges these books for those that have appeared at Kehot* publications, whose catalogue you have surely seen. The chassidim* in Eretz HaKodesh* possess several copies of it.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מא' צו, בו כותב ע"ד הסתדרותו ועסקו באה"ק ת"ו, ובטח אף שאין מזכיר עד"ז במכתבו, משתתף הוא מזמן לזמן בהתועדות חסידית, ואשר זהו מענינים שאין להם תחליף בפעולה אחרת, וכמבואר בכמה משיחות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר בטח ראה אותם.

מסרתי הפ"ש שלו לאמי הרבנית שליט"א, ונעם לה להודע ע"ד הקורות אותו, כי זוכרת היא היטב את כל משפחתו, וגם סיפרה לי כמה מאורעות בהנוגע אליו בעצמו.

רואה אני שעוסק הוא במו"ל, ובטח משתמש בהזדמנות זו להרבות אור התורה והיהדות, באה"ק ת"ו, וכידוע פתגם הצמח צדק אשר מלה הבאה בדפוס זהו לדורי דורות, ובמילא מובן הזכות והאחריות שעל המו"ל.

כבקשתו הנה כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אזכירו ואת ב"ב שיחיו להמצטרך להם.

ולקראת ימי החג הבאים עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג הפסח כשר ושמח.

ולקיום היעוד המקווה, כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות, בגאולתינו האמיתית והשלימה, בימיו ובימינו ע"י משיח צדקנו.

נ"ב: במענה על שאלתו. הנה מעונין אני בכל עניני דפוס שיש להם איזה שייכות ליהודים ויהדות, וכבר נהגו רבים ששולחים להספרי' שלי מכל הנדפס על ידם או היו"ל על ידם, ואף שאין אצלי קופה להוצאה ע"ז, אבל הספרי' שלי מחליפה למי שרוצה בזה על הספרים הוצאת קה"ת, ובטח ראה רשימת הוצאות קה"ת, כי ישנם כמה קטלוגים אצל אנ"ש באה"ק ת"ו.
