Igrot Kodesh · Letter 204 — Jewish Education — A Small Change, A Transformed Tree

To the dear Mr. Dov Ber Padower[1],

I send you greetings and blessings.

We have duly received your donation for Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch* and you will find enclosed a receipt.

I express the hope that your interest in Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch* will continue into the future. You will endeavor to assist it not only physically and financially, but also by exercising your influence among your relatives and friends, in order to grant them merit and motivate them for this cause.

The verse states that "man is like the tree of the field."* Now, the slightest modification — even an insignificant one — undergone by a seed brings about a radical transformation in the tree to which it will give rise. And so it is with the education of a child.

This is why every effort that can be invested in the education of a child is amply justified. How much more so when it concerns rectifying a foundational element capable of transforming a child's entire existence.

It is certain that sincere effort and action are always crowned with success.
