By the grace of Hashem,

To the rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Moshe Yehudah[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I have just received your request for blessing on the occasion of the hilula*[2], for yourself and for all the members of your family. Without making it a vow, I will read it, at a propitious moment, near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us.

Iggeres HaKodesh*, ch. 7, comments on the following question posed by the Sages[3]: "Which practice did your father observe most scrupulously?" Certainly, every Jew must fulfill all six hundred thirteen mitzvos* at once. For all that, each one possesses indeed an injunction that concerns him more precisely, and it is through its intermediary that the Torah and the mitzvos* he puts into practice receive elevation. You will consult on this subject Sefer HaSichos* summer 5700[4], p. 22.

For certain people, the nature of this mitzvah*[5] is quite clear. Our Sages say that the appointee over the well is appointed by Hashem. How much more so is it the case for one who has the merit of guiding the children of Israel, of drawing their hearts close to their Father in Heaven, thanks to the luminary of the Torah, which is Chassidus*.

The blessings for yourself and for the members of your family, including in material domains, depend therefore on the care, the alacrity, and the effort you will bring, with renewed and increased ardor, to your particular mitzvah*, which surpasses all the others, according to the words of Iggeres HaKodesh* previously cited.

May Hashem grant you success, and may reflection on all this lead you immediately to concrete action toward all your students, so that their chinuch* be in conformity with the will of our holy master, whose merit will protect us.

זה עתה נתקבל הפ"נ שלו בעדו וכל ב"ב שיחיו, של יום ההילולא, ובל"נ אקראהו בעת רצון על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ידוע המבואר באגה"ק סי' ז' על מרז"ל אבוך במאי הוי זהיר טפי, שאף שכל נפש מישראל צריכה לקיים כל תרי"ג מצות, אעפ"כ בדרך פרט יש לכל אחד מצוה מיוחדת, ודרך מצוה זו עולים ונמשכים התומ"צ שלו (עיין ספר השיחות קיץ ה'ת"ש עמוד כ"ב).

והנה אצל כמה אנשים ברורה המצוה המשמשת שער זה וע"פ מרז"ל אפי' ריש גרגותא משמיא קא ממני לי' ובפרט מי שזכה להיות משפיע על בני ישראל לקרב את לבם לאבינו שבשמים ע"י מאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות, ובמילא מובן אשר גם ההמשכות בנוגע לו ולכל ב"ב אפילו בענינים הגשמים תלוים הם בהעדפה וזהירות וזריזות יתירה ביתר שאת ויתר עז כפולה ומכופלת (במצוה פרטית שלו) למעלה מעלה משאר המצות - לשון אגה"ק הנ"ל - והשי"ת יצליחו שהתבוננותו בכל זה תומשך תומ"י בענינים של פועל בכל מושפעיו שיהי' חינוכם מתאים לרצון נשיאנו הק' זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
