and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

After a particularly long interruption, I received your letter of 4 Shevat, in which you inform me that you will soon send me the photocopies of three letters of the Rebbe Rashab*, and that you have already sent me the reproduction of one of these. I thank you very much for it. It seems that this is in continuation of the letter that I sent, through your intermediary, to the son of Rav Cohen[2]. Doubtless you will continue to do the same in the future.

I am surprised not to have received, during all this time, a single press clipping of what is being printed concerning Chabad* in our Holy Land, although in my last letter I charged you with collecting these clippings and sending them to me. Is it possible that, during all these months, nothing was printed concerning Chabad* and all that pertains to it?

Likewise, you say nothing of your progress in the Hebrew translation of the revised and enlarged edition of the Beis Rebbi*, in which you must include what my father-in-law, the Rebbe, recounts concerning the Alter Rebbe* in his sichos*. Subsequently, the same will need to be done for the Mitteler Rebbe*. Indeed, without making it a vow, if the attempt to develop the Beis Rebbi* concerning the Alter Rebbe* is a success, I intend to consider afterward a similar edition for his successors.

These days, the Beis Rebbi* has been printed here in Yiddish. You doubtless know that there are, in this edition, stories that are not found in the Hebrew one. There must be, in the Holy Land, a Beis Rebbi* in Yiddish. You will therefore be able to consult it and add these stories to the edition you are preparing.

The present letter having been delayed, I received in the meantime your correspondence of the 11th and what it contained. I thank you very much for these reproductions, and especially for the good news regarding your activities in the new neighborhood found near Lod. Doubtless you will strive to pursue them after this "plowing" and these "sowings." Thus, you will gather the fruits and bring them in. May Hashem grant you success in this matter.

אחרי ההפסקה הכי ארוכה נתקבל מכתבו מד' שבט, בו מודיע שבקרוב ישלח תצלום משלשה מכתבי כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע וכן כבר שלח תצלום עוד ממכתב א'. ות"ח ת"ח על טרחתו בזה, וכנראה - הוא בהמשך להמכתב ששלחתי על ידו לבנו של הרב כהן, ובטח גם להבא ישתדל בכגון אלו.

לפלא שבמשך כל הזמן לא נתקבל אף קטע אחד מהנדפס בנוגע לחב"ד באה"ק ת"ו, בה בשעה שמתאים למכתבי האחרון הנה הוטל זה עליו לקבל הקטעים ולשלחם לכאן, והאומנם במשך כמה חדשים לא נדפס אף פעם א' בנוגע לתורת החסידות חב"ד ועניני'? כן אינו כותב ע"ד התקדמות בעריכת הבית רבי בלה"ק בהוצאה מתוקנת ומורחבת (היינו שיכנס בזה הנמצא בשיחות של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בנוגע לאדמו"ר הזקן)? וכן במשך הזמן גם בנוגע להאדמו"ר האמצעי וכו'. כי בל"נ הנה אם יצליח הנסיון בעריכת הבית רבי בנוגע לאדמו"ר הזקן, הרי בדעתי לחשוב ג"כ ע"ד בית רבי בנוגע להנשיאים שאחרי אדמו"ר הזקן.

ימים אלו נדפס כאן הבית רבי באידיש, ובטח ידוע לו אשר בו נמצאים גם סיפורים שלא נכנסו בהבית רבי בלה"ק, ובודאי נמצא הבית רבי באידיש ג"כ באה"ק ת"ו ויוכל לראותו ולהכניס גם הסיפורים משם להבית רבי המתוקן שמכין הוא.

נתעכב מכ' זה ונתקבל מכ' מי"א עם המוסג"פ. ות"ח ת"ח על התצלומים ובפרט על הבשו"ט ע"ד פעולותיהם בשכון החדש שבסביבות לוד. ובטח יתאמצו עתה להמשיך הענין, אחרי "החרישה והזריעה", שיקצרו ויאספו ג"כ התבואה והפירות, והשי"ת יברכם בהצלחה בכ"ז.
