To the rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Tzvi[1] and his wife, the rebbetzin*,

Greetings and blessings,

A) I enclose my proposal, which is the same as that of last year[2], for the practices that should be adopted on the occasion of the day of the hilula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us.

I also send you the kuntres* that has just appeared. In another mailing, the Beis Rebbi*, which has recently been printed here in Yiddish, was sent to you. Doubtless, all this will serve your work, in addition to the intrinsic interest these texts present.

B) It would be good to consider the possibility that one of you periodically publish short articles and stories in the newspapers that appear in the country of your present residence, or even in your city.

Of course, these articles can be composed in the language of the country. Someone will therefore translate what you write. Nevertheless, you must make sure that the translation remains faithful to their deep content. The purpose of all this is twofold:

1. Your name will be known, which will reinforce your position in every domain.

2. You will spread the ideas flowing from yiras shamayim* in general, and from Chassidus* in particular.

C) It would be good to seek out and find a good translator, who will be able to publish the talks with the youth[3] or the other publications of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch* in the language of the country. You will yourselves decide which kuntreisim* and which stories should be translated first. You will also tell me what this will cost and the interest it presents. Thus, we can adopt a final position.

When you print all this in the newspapers, or, in general, when you publish anything at all, you will send a clipping of it here.

You will also kindly verify whether there are not, in the shuls* or even by private individuals, rare books or manuscripts, in particular Sephardic works, which are not in use, in which case it would be good to send them here. If something in exchange is requested, you can offer the publications of Kehot* editions which you know.

...ד) מוסג"פ הצעתי (שזוהי דאשתקד) להנהגות ביום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, וכן הקונטרס שהו"ל זה לא כבר, ובמעטפה מיוחדה נשלח להם ג"כ הבית רבי שהדפיסו כאן לא כבר באידיש, אשר בטח ישתמש בכ"ז לתועלת עבודתם נוסף על התועלת לעצמם.

ה) מהנכון הי' לברר אם אפשר שמי מכם ידפיס בזמנים קבועים מאמרים קצרים או סיפורים וכיו"ב בהעתונים המופיעים במדינתם עתה א[ו] גם בעירם, ומובן שיכול להיות זה בשפת המדינה ויעתיק אחר את מה שיכתבו הם, ובלבד שיהי' בטוח שההעתקה מתאימה להנקודה הפנימית. והכוונה בשתים בזה, א) פרסום שמם שבמילא מתחזקת עי"ז ג"כ עמדתם בכל הענינים. ב) פרסום רעיונות המתאימים אם ביראת שמים בכלל או בנוגע לחסידות בפרט.

ו) מהנכון הי' לברר ולמצוא מעתיק המתאים שיוכל להעתיק אם את השמועסין והטאקס או משאר הוצאות המל"ח לשפת המדינה, ויתייעצו ביניהם לאיזה חוברות וסיפורים דין הקדימה בזה, ויודיעוני ג"כ ההוצאות הכרוכות בזה והתועלת הצפוי', ואז אפשר יהי' להחליט סופית בזה...

בודאי כשידפיסו במכ"ע ע"ד הנ"ל, או כשיהי' בכלל איזה ענינים נדפסים שייכים להנ"ל, ישלחו לכאן קטע זה.

כן מטובו להתענין אשר אפשר נמצאים בבתכ"נ או גם אצל יחידים ספרים בלתי מצוים, או גם כתבי יד ובפרט מספרי הספרדים שאין משתמשים בהם, ואז כדאי שישלחום לכאן, ואם ידרשו יש להחליפם על איזה מהוצאות קה"ת הידועים לכם.
