Greetings and blessings,
I follow up on the discussion we had when you were here, and on what we then conversed about. The errors made, at the time, by the Mensheviks[1] in our country of origin[2], in 5677[3], allowed the Bolsheviks[4] to take power.
When the Bolshevik party did what the people considered an error, and in this case adopted the well-known attitude toward Germany, the Mensheviks, who were still in power, should have made use of this error in order to gain for themselves the major part of the people and of the Bolsheviks.
Concretely, the Mensheviks made an error which, from the point of view of the people, was no less important than that of the Bolsheviks. They concluded an alliance with the representatives of the bourgeoisie. Obviously, the Bolsheviks immediately rose against this "rebellion," pretending that the Mensheviks had passed into the other camp. The alliance with Germany was therefore to be preferred to that with the bourgeoisie, who were the true enemies.
Consequently, the government had to be entrusted to those who shared this point of view[5].

...בהמשך לשיחתנו כשהי' כ' כאן ובמה שדברנו אז... הטעויות שעשו בשעתו המענשעוויקעס במדינתנו לפנים בשנת תרע"ז, טעויות אשר סוף סוף הביאו לכבוש השלטון על ידי הבולשעוויקען... כאשר מפלגת הבולשעוויקען עשתה דבר שנחשב לשגיאה בעיני העם (והוא היחס אל ממשלת אשכנז דאז) שלכאורה הי' על מפלגת המענשעוויקען שאחזה ברסן הממשלה לנצל את השגיאה ולכבוש את לבבות חלק חשוב של העם ושל מפלגת הבולשעוויקען, עשתה גם היא "שגיאה" אשר מנקודת מבט רוב העם היתה לא פחותה מהשגיאה הנ"ל, היינו, שהתחברו עם באי-כח המעמד של האמידים (בורזשואזי), וכמובן אשר תו"מ הריעו הבולשעוויקען על "הבגידה" הזאת שהמענשעוויקען עברו כליל למחנה המעמד שכנגד, וממילא טוב יותר הברית עם אשכנז מאשר ברית עם מעמד הבע"ב מעמד השונא ולכן צריכה הממשלה להמסר לידי האוחזים בשיטה זו וכו'...
