To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and
devotes himself faithfully to communal needs,
Rav Moshe HaKohen[1],
Greetings and blessings,
I hope it is unnecessary to remind you that 24 Teves, which is approaching, is the day of the hilula* of the Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*. It is therefore a propitious date for knowing success in all the domains introduced by the teaching of Chassidus* and by the revealed part of Torah*.
One attributes a merit to a day that is, by nature, propitious, and one must therefore organize, on this date, a warm chassidic farbrengen*. In the course of this, one will strengthen oneself and take good resolutions concerning ahavas Yisrael*, ahavas haTorah*, and ahavas Hashem*.
The kohanim*[2] have, in this sense, a particular merit, since the mitzvah* of blessing Israel was transmitted to them. Now, this blessing is granted with ahavas Yisrael*. In fact, one then praises Hashem "Who commands to bless His people Israel with love," as the Shulchan Aruch* of him whose hilula* we are celebrating specifies, in chapter 128, paragraph 19, and one transmits this love of one's fellow to those who receive the blessing, as the memoirs[3] specify on page 343.

...אקוה אשר למותר לעוררו שביום א' כ"ד טבת הבע"ל הוא יום ההילולא של כ"ק אדמו"ר רבינו הזקן, בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך אשר במילא זהו יום זכאי להצלחה הן בענינים הנמצאים בתורת החסידות והן בענינים הנמצאים בתורת הנגלה, ומגלגלין זכות ליום זכאי לעשות התועדות, א ווארימען פארבריינגען ולהתחזק בהחלטות טובות באהבת ישראל אהבת התורה ואהבת השם, וזכות ביחוד בזה לכהנים שלהם נמסר מצות ברכת ישראל וברכה מתוך אהבת ישראל וכנוסח הברכה לברך את עמו ישראל באהבה (שו"ע בעל ההילולא סקכ"ח סי"ט) ולהמשיך בהמתברכים אה"י (זכרונות ע' שמג).
בברכה לבריאות הנכונה לו ולזוגתו שיחיו ולהצלחה בעניניהם הכלליים והפרטיים.
