To the directors of Yeshivah Lubavitch of Lod,

upon whom Hashem will bestow long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I have already given my opinion several times regarding the activity of the students. Everything that concerns them must be decided by the direction of the yeshivah* and receive its agreement, as we heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe. This is also the case in this instance.

Nevertheless, this direction must take into account the sensitivity of each student and not "tighten the bridle" too much. Likewise, one must be aware that certain practices, on account of the situation, may be considered as a mitzvah* that cannot be carried out by another person, in which case one suspends the study of Torah* in order to fulfill it.

In this latter case, one must watch and ensure that the students not concerned by this decision do not find themselves discouraged on account of it.

I extend my blessing for success in your sacred mission.

In expectation of good news, at the earliest, in all these domains,

...בענין עסקנות התלמידים, הנה כבר גליתי דעתי כמה פעמים, שכל עניני תלמידי הישיבה צריכים להתנהג ע"י הנהלת הישיבה ובהסכמתם, אשר כפי ששמענו כ"פ מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ובמילא בנדון זה הוא כן, אלא שעל ההנהלה להתחשב עם חושי התלמיד הפרטי ניט איבערציען די סטרונע, וכן להתחשב עם הענינים אשר מפני המצב הרי זה נכנס לפעמים בגדר ענין מצוה שא"א לעשותה ע"י אחרים שאז מבטלין ת"ת, ואז יש להזהר און באווארענען שלא יפעול זה חלישות ביתר התלמידים שאין פסק זה שייך להם...
