By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

According to what the Rav[1] writes to me, you all, as well as your children, devote yourselves to a Jewish communal activity, which consists of guiding those around you in all the domains of Jewish practice. The merit constituted by such an accomplishment is inestimable.

You know the explanation[2] transmitted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in the name of the holy Baal Shem Tov, according to which every Jew and every Jewess, young or old, is infinitely more precious to Hashem than is an only son to his parents. Let one therefore imagine the pleasure one causes to parents by bringing back to them the only son they have not seen for a very long time. Now, the one that one provides to Hashem is infinitely greater, when one draws a Jew close to Jewish practice. The reward and the merit that flow from this escape our understanding.

May Hashem grant that you observe all this with your eyes of flesh, in the form of the Jewish nachas* you will derive from your children. You yourself and your wife will obtain all this in health and joy.
