Greetings and blessings,
I am replying to your letter of Tuesday, 14 Kislev, in which you tell me that you are considering setting your daughter's wedding for the second half of the month of Teves.
In my opinion, one must endeavor that it take place in Adar or in Nissan. If it must be celebrated in Shevat, this should be during the first half of this month. The month of Adar, on the other hand, is entirely joyous, as the verse says.
You do not indicate, in your letter, the reason for which you wish to make the choice of the second half of Teves. Perhaps the calculation establishes that it must be so. Nevertheless, you know the ruling of our holy Rebbeim, which I received from my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in the name of the Tzemach Tzedek, according to which there is no impossibility of celebrating a wedding when the bride is niddah*.
Whatever your decision, may Hashem grant that the wedding be celebrated at a good and fruitful moment.

במענה על מכתבו מג' י"ד כסלו, בו כותב אשר ישנו סברא לקבוע חתונת בתו תחי' בחצי השני דחדש טבת,
והנה לדעתי יש להשתדל לקבוע החתונה בחדש אדר או ניסן, ואם בחדש שבט אזי בחציו הראשון. בחדש אדר הרי כל החדש חדש של שמחה וכמבואר בקרא.
אינו כותב במכתבו הטעם לחציו השני דוקא של חדש טבת, ואפשר שהוא מטעם חופת כו' אבל ידוע פסק נשיאינו רבוה"ק וכן שמעתי מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בשם אדמו"ר הצ"צ, אשר לא הקפידו על חופת נדה, ואיך שיחליטו יה"ר מהשי"ת שיהי' בשעה טובה ומוצלחת.
