Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1950 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 7 · Letter 84

By the grace of Hashem,

22 Kislev 5713,

Brooklyn,

Greetings and blessings,

Concerning what happened to the Sefer Torah*[1], it was bearing its mantle[2]. Despite this, those who were present[3] will still observe four half-fasts, and the students[4] one half-fast.

Throughout this entire year, you will scrupulously read each verse of the Torah* twice and once with Targum*[5]. Likewise, you will give, on every weekday, one franc to a tzedakah* cause devoted to the study of Torah*.

May Hashem grant you long days and good years.

Notes

[1] Which fell to the ground.

[2] At the time of the fall, which mitigates the gravity of what occurred.

[3] At the fall.

[4] Of the yeshivah*.

[5] Of each Sidra*, before Shabbos*.
