To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Eliyahu Akiva[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I took knowledge with pleasure, from your letter, of your efforts tending to spread and to teach the students chassidic* stories and notions of Chassidus*. Doubtless you will redouble your ardor in the matter, for such is indeed the finality of man, as it is said[2]: "Let us understand the conclusion of these words: Fear Hashem and observe His Commandments, for such is the goal of man."

All must understand this idea, which is at the base of the service of Hashem incumbent upon man, Adam, a term whose numerical value is forty-five, that of the divine Name Mah, linked to the tree of life, which alludes to the profound part of the Torah, that is to say, to the teaching of Chassidus*.

I enclose for you a fascicle edited a short time ago, and which you will surely place at the disposal of the largest number. It has also been addressed to the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Yehudah Dov Shochat[3]. Nevertheless, a single copy is not sufficient, and may these two fascicles therefore serve for all your entourage.

In this fascicle, you will also consult what is said of nourishment, which is also "the goal of man," as I cited previously.

נהניתי לקרות במכתבו ע"ד השתדלותו להודיע ולהחדיר בתוך התלמידים והתלמידות שלו סיפורים חסידותיים וכן עניני חסידות ובטח יוסיף אומץ בזה, כי הרי זהו כל האדם, וכמ"ש סוף דבר הכל נשמע (אז אלע זאלן דערהערן) את האלקים ירא (כי זהו יסוד ושרש העבודה) ואת מצותיו שמור כי זה כל האדם (בגימ' מ"ה אילנא דחיי פנימיות התורה זוהי תורת החסידות)...

מוסג"פ קונטרס שהו"ל לא כבר, ובטח יזכה בו את הרבים. ואף ששולחים ג"כ להרה"ג הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ וכו' מוה"ר יהודא דוב שי' שחט, בטח לא די בא' והלואי שיספיק שני קונטרסים בשביל סביבתם, ויעוין ג"כ בקונטרס זה בענין אכילת הדם כי זה כל האדם הנ"ל.
