Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1814 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,

To the Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav Mordechai Tzvi[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I was pleased to learn, from your letter, that you met one of the directors of the Talmud Torah of Yerushalayim. You told him that you had the merit of meeting my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in Vienna, and that you heard his chassidic discourses[2].

You must explain to him that the words of the tzaddikim* are eternal. That which you heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe, therefore remains in force and produces its effect, even at the present hour. It suffices[3] to remove the veil, when such exists. Then, that which they[4] accomplish will appear evident.

... נהניתי לקרות במכתבו אשר נפגש עם אחד ממנהלי הת"ת בירושלים ת"ו וסיפר לו אשר זכה להיות אצל כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, בוויען, שמע מאמרים וכו' ועליו להסביר לו אשר דברי צדיקים קיימים לעד, ואותם הדברים אשר שמע מפי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, גם עתה קיימים הם ופועלים פעולתם, ובלבד שיסיר את ההעלם וההסתר אם ישנו, כדי שתהי' ניכרת פעולתם בגלוי...
