To the Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Saadya[1], emissary of the Sages,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letters of the 20th and 21st of Menachem Av, as also the list relating to the maamad*[2] and what was joined to it, of 8 Tammuz. The office also indicated to me what you sent it. Without making a vow of it, when I find myself at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I will read this list.

I am vexed that the obtaining of your visa[3] is taking so much delay. It is surprising that one does not activate the steps, as should have been the case, given the needs, all the more so as the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, R. B. G.[4], finds himself presently in your city. And he knows how to proceed in such a case.

To complain of the past is useless, and my words therefore concern the future. In any event, may Hashem grant that you know success, material and spiritual, in your communal activities as in your personal preoccupations.

You have been sent, moreover, an extract from the words spoken during the chassidic gathering of the Shabbos during which we blessed the month of Elul. You will surely make it available to as many people as possible.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו מכ' וכ"א מנ"א ורשימת הנפנה ומשותף מח' תמוז, וכן נתקבל הודעת המשרד שקבלו ממנו, ובל"נ כשאהי' על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אקרא את הרשימה.

מצטער אני על שנמשך הענין של רשיון שלו זה זמן רב ביותר, ולפלא שאין מזרזין זא"ז כדבעי למהוי מתאים לדרישת הענין ובפרט שגם הרה"ג והרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ וכו' מוהרבא"ג שי' נמצא עתה במחנם, וידועים לו הדרכים בזה, ואין צועקין על העבר, ולא באתי אלא להעירו בנוגע להבא, ויה"ר שתהי' כל העכבה לטובה ועת לכל חפץ, ובכ"א תהי' הצלחה בגו"ר הן בענינים הכללים והן בענינים הפרטים.

נשלח בפ"ע העתק קטע הר"ד ממה שנדבר בהתועדות רש"ק מברכים אלול, ובודאי יזכה בזה את הרבים.
