Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1554 — Faith & Bitachon
Volume 6 · Letter 26 · To: membres du groupement féminin de Manhattan
By the grace of Hashem,
10 Iyar 5712,
Brooklyn, New York,
To the members of the Manhattan women's association
for the benefit of Beis Rivkah,
upon whom Hashem will bestow long life,
Blessings and greetings,
I extend to you my greetings and my blessing on the occasion of the seventh annual banquet of the Manhattan women's association for the Beis Rivkah schools, which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 Iyar 5712, with the help of Hashem.
Our Sages relate that Bnei Yisrael* were redeemed from Mitzrayim* through the merit of the nashim tzidkaniyos* [1]. This merit was the following. These women paid no heed to the terrible decrees and the suffering of golus*. They formed a generation of children faithful to Yiddishkeit*, submissive to Hashem, the Elokim of their fathers.
The Almighty has promised us that the geulah sheleimah*, which approaches, would be similar to yetzias Mitzrayim*.
Thus, at the present hour as in that era, the redemption of the people of Yisrael* depends upon the Jewish women, who are, in particular, responsible for the chinuch* of the children.
I therefore have good hope that you will concentrate your action both upon the chinuch* of your own children and upon the assistance you can extend to the chinuch* of others. You will, in particular, do everything in your power to strengthen your engagement on behalf of the Beis Rivkah schools, for they form those who will become Jewish mothers, maintaining the traditions of the nashim tzidkaniyos* of all eras.
With my blessing for success in your action, which enables you to obtain the divine blessings, materially and spiritually, for you and for all your loved ones,
