Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1540 — Health
Volume 6 · Letter 12
By the grace of Hashem,
3 Iyar 5712,
Brooklyn,
Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, which concerned your son. He wishes to come to continue his studies at the Lubavitch yeshivah* here. You specify that in Tammuz he will be twenty years old, for length of days and good years.
Your son will profit from the summer to strengthen his ardor for the study of the revealed part of the Torah and of Chassidus*. Of course, this does not mean that he will have to weaken his health. The teaching of the Baal Shem Tov and Chabad* Chassidus* particularly underscore that one must be in good health, physically and morally.
During the course of the summer, he will write to the hanhalah* of the Lubavitch yeshivah* here, and they will surely come to an agreement. During the summer, he will study in the manner defined above, and afterward it will be good for him to come to continue his studies here, beginning from Rosh Hashanah*.
May Hashem grant that you derive much pleasure from this child and from all the others — a Jewish and chassidic* pleasure, in tranquility and ample measure.
With my blessing,
א'תקמ
