By the grace of Hashem,

I greet and bless you,

I duly received your letter of Monday of Parshas Tzav. I read in it, with pleasure, that you are already settled, that you have the possibility of maintaining your study of Torah and your reading of Tehillim.

Furthermore, you had committed yourself, for various reasons, where you found yourself, to studies on the book of Tehillim. You ask me and you ask whether you must maintain them, finding yourself in Eretz HaKodesh*, which will not leave you sufficient time to learn Gemara as you wish.

You have been saying Tehillim in this fashion for a long time. Even if it seems to you that the reason is past, it is necessary, in my opinion, to continue to read these Tehillim, as you have done until now. For no one can know what is most precious to Hashem, all the more so since you have been observing this positive practice for a long time.

You have surely read, in our holy books and especially in the works of Chassidus*, accounts showing the importance of reading Tehillim.

On the occasion of Pesach, which approaches, for us and for all Yisrael, for good, I address my brachah* to you, as well as to the members of your family, that you have a kosher and joyous Yom Tov of Pesach.

In conformity with the promise whose realization we await, "as in the days of your going out from Mitzrayim*, I shall show you wonders," Hashem shall lead us very soon toward the true and complete geulah*, by Mashiach Tzidkeinu*.

קבלתי מכתבו מב' צו, ושמחתי לקרות בו שכבר הסתדר ויש לו האפשרית להחזיק בשיעורי תורה וגם בתהלים.

גם שואל חוו"ד, אשר בהיותו ב... קבל ע"ע מפני כמה ועמים שיעורים בס' תהלים, וחפצו לדעת אם יחזיק בהם גם עה ביותו אה"ק ת"ו, ובפרט שאז לא 5ישאר לו כ"כ זמן למוד גמרא כפי שרוצה.

הנה דעתי, מאחר שמנהג אמירת תהלים במדה כזו מחזיק בו זמן רב הנה אע"פ שנראה לו שהסיבה כבר לא שנה, בכל זאת צריך להמשיך אמירת התהלים כמו עד עתה, ואין לדעת מה יקר יותר אצל הקב"ה ובפרט שמנהגו טוב זה הוא מכמה וכמה זמן.

ובטח קרא סיפורים בדבר מעלת אמירת תהלים שבספרים הקדושים ובפרט בספרי חסידות.

ולקראת חג הפסח הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה הנני בזה לברכו ואת ב"ב שי' בברכת חג, חג פסח כשר ושמח.

וכהיעוד המקווה כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאו, יזכנו שי"ת בעגלא דידן לגאולה האמיתית והשלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו.
