Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1502 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,

9 Nissan 5712,

To Mr. Yisrael Aryeh[1],

I greet and bless you,

I duly received your letter and the two requests for brachah* that it contained. Without making it a neder*, I shall give them reading by the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

I respond to your question, which bore on your studies. You shall take counsel with the spiritual guide who teaches you Chassidus*[2]. He shall indicate to you what you must learn in this matter. For the revealed part of the Torah, you shall consult the rosh yeshivah*. If one or the other is in doubt, they shall write to me.

Indeed, in all times, the rule in this matter has been the most rigorous discipline. One must therefore, before any other thing, consult the spiritual guide[2] to know his opinion.

As for the studies[3] of Chumash, of Tehillim, and of the Tanya, it is possible to complete during the night what could not be done during the day[4]. This is what my father-in-law, the Rebbe, indicated.

With my brachah for a kosher and joyous Yom Tov of Pesach, to know hatzlachah* in the study of Torah and yiras Shamayim*,

שלום וברכה!

נתקבל מכתבו עם שני הפ"נ שבו, שאקראם - בל"נ - על הציו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ובמענה על שאלתו בענין הסדרים בלימוד שלו, הנה יתייעץ בזה עם המשפיע שלו בדא"ח בעיני לימוד דא"ח ועם הר"מ בנגלה דלימודי הנגלה ואם יהי' אצלם ספק בזה אזי הם יכתבו מצדם אלי, כי בכלל הי' הסדר מאז ומקדם אשר בעינים כאלו צריכה להיות משמעת המתאמת, ובמילא לכל לראש צריך לפנות להמשפיע שלו לדעת חוו"ד.

בשיעורי חת"ת - בלילה אפשר להשלים שי[עור] יום שלפניו כן הורה כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר.

בברכת חג הפסח כשר ושמח ולהצלחה בלימוד התורה ביראת שמים.
