I greet and bless you,

I respond to your letters of 13 and 28 Shevat, in which you inform me that you have already acquired a barracks and have arranged it[3]. You ask me what name you should give to this school.

In my opinion, this depends upon the program of studies. If the talmidim* are also drawn from circles that are not very close to Chabad, this program will have to be different from that of the Lubavitch Yeshiva. It would then be good to affiliate this school with the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch network. On the other hand, if it is possible for this program to be that of the Lubavitch Yeshiva, it can be called Tomchei Temimim or Achei Temimim[4]. This depends also upon the establishment of upper grades.

It seems that the first eventuality, affiliation with the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch network, is the most desirable. Indeed, this will permit the integration of talmidim who, a priori, would not accept an entirely Chabad program. Little by little, they will be drawn toward the spirit of Lubavitch.

In any event, the studies will be organized in such a way that the talmidim completing the cursus in this school of Rishon Letzion can enter one of our yeshivos in Eretz HaKodesh*, in Lod or in Yerushalayim.

May Hashem reveal His Presence in your accomplishments, and may your accomplishments be fruitful, that you form talmidim filled with yiras Shamayim*, chassidim* and scholars.

במענה על מכתביהם מי"ג וכ"ח שבט, בם מודיעים אשר כבר קנו הצריף והמידו אותו, ומבקשים חוו"ד באיזה שם לקרוא להמוסד חינוך זה.

לדעתי הנה זה נוגע במקצת בתכנית הלימודים, כי אם יתקבלו שם תלמדיים גם מחוגים שאינם קרובים כ"כ לחב"ד, ובמילא אי אפשר יהי' להקפיד שתהי' התכנית בהתאם לישיבת תומכי תמימים, אז כדאי שתכנס ברשת אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש, ואם ביכולתם לסדר התכנית שתהי' כמו שהוא בישיבת תו"ת, אזי יש להקרא בשם אחי מיים או תומכי תמימים, וזהו תלוי אם יהי' שם גם כתות הגבוהות יותר, ולכאורה סברא הראשונה שתכנס ברשת אהל"יי מתאמת יותר כיון שאז יש לקבל בתור תלמידים גם אלו שמתחלה לא יסכימו על תכנית לימוד חב"ד במילואו, ובאופן כזה ימשיכו אום לרוח ליובאוויטש לאט לאט, בכל אופן יש לסדר את הלימוד באופן כזה אשר בגמרם הלימודים בהמוסד שבראשון לציון יוכלו להכנס לאיזה מישיבותינו אשר באה"ק ת"ו, אם בלוד או בירושלים ת"ו.

ויה"ר מהשי"ת שתשרה שכינה במעשה ידיהם ותהי' עבודתם בהצלחה להעמיד תלמידים יראי שמים חסידים ולומדים.
