To the distinguished chassid*, who fears Hashem and
devotes himself faithfully to communal needs,
Rav Moshe HaKohen[1],

Greetings and brachos*,

I duly received your letter, with the request for brachah* for Mr. ..., whose family name you do not cite. I am enclosing my reply[2]. If it is necessary to add a complementary explanation, I rely on you to do so. You will surely know how to find the words that will suit Mrs. ... and her husband, Mr. ..., to whom I wrote.

It would be good for you to also be able to contact their sons. They request, indeed, a brachah that the latter know success in business. One must therefore explain to them, in terms they will understand, the "business" act that constitutes the descent of the neshamah* into the body, set forth in Torah Or, at the beginning of Parshas Vayeishev, and in the chassidishe* maamar* entitled "she perceives that her merchandise is profitable," of 10 Shevat 5709[3], printed in fascicle no. 62.

You do not speak to me of your state of health and of that of your wife. I deduce from this that you are doing well.

הנני מאשר בזה קבלת מכתבו והפ"נ עבור מר... (בלי הזכרת שם המשפחתי שלהם) ומוסג"פ המענה אליהם, ואל בינתו אשען אשר אם נצרכה הסברה בהענינים המובאים במכתבי, הרי בטח ימצא את האותיות המתאימות לפי ערך מרת... ובעלה מר... שאליהם כותב הנני, ומה טוב הי' שימצא ג"כ דרכים ואופנים לבוא בקשור עם בניהם שיחיו, אשר כיון שמבקשים הם ברכה להצלחת בניהם במסחרם, יש להסבירם כמובן לפי מדריגת בינתם ענין המסחר של ירידת הנשמה בגוף, וכמבואר בתורה אור ר"פ וישב, ובד"ה טעמה כי טוב סחרה, דיו"ד שבט תש"ט, נדפס בקונטרס ס"ב.

באשר אינו מזכיר מאומר ע"ד בריאותו ובריאות זוגתו תחי' הנה בטח השלום אתם,
