Greetings and blessings,

In reply to your letter, in which you inform me that you have been a talmid* at the Yeshiva of Sefarya[1] for two years and two months. Now, a doctor advises you to have your tonsils operated on. He thinks that it must be done as quickly as possible. You also ask for a brachah* for your father, the rav*.

Here is my reply:

A) Concerning the operation, you will consult another specialist in this area. If he likewise advises the operation and asks that it be performed now, Hashem will grant that it go well, in a propitious moment.

During the Shabbos preceding the intervention, you will read the entire Tehillim*, if possible without interruption, without even saying the Yehi Ratzon that concludes each book[2]. When the date of the operation is set, you will let us know here.

B) I will mention the name of your father when I find myself near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. You will ask him to maintain the three studies that concern each one and that were instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe — those of Chumash*, Tehillim, and Tanya.

In a second letter, you will surely furnish me with details on your study and your good conduct, permeated with yiras Shamayim*.

במענה על מכתבו, בו מודיע אשר לומד בהישיבה בספריא זה שנתיים וב' חדשים, ויש רופא מייעץ לעשות נתוח בהשקדים בגרון ומיעצו לעשות עתה וכן מבקש ברכה בעד אביו מוה"ר... שי'

הנה א) בנוגע להנתוח, ישאל עוד רופא אחד מומחה במקצוע זה, ואם גם הוא יסכים לעשות הנתוח ועתה, הרי יהי רצון שיהי' הנתוח כשורה ובשעה טובה ומוצלחת, ובהש"ק שלפני הנתוח יאמר את כל התהלים - ואם באפשר בלי הפסק, היינו גם בלא אמירת יהי רצון כ"א אחר כל הספרים - וכשידע ברור יום הנתוח יודיע לכאן.

ב) את אביו שי' אזכירו בהיותי על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, וימסור לאביו שי' שישמור את שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש כתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, והם בחומש תהלים ותניא.

בטח במכתבו השני יודיע בפרטיות ע"ד למודו והנהגתו הטובה ביראת שמים.
