Greetings and blessings,

I have not had news of you for quite a long time. I would like to know, first of all, whether you are in good health, as well as your wife. Furthermore, when you were here, we spoke of the house and the neighbors[1]. We also evoked spirituality, the necessity of influencing the children in the spirit that we defined.

I would like to confirm my point, in light of what my father-in-law, the Rebbe, told me, and of what we can observe with our own eyes. Without a doubt, when one speaks once, then a second time, then yet again, one can convince, in the end, at least partially. How much more so when it is a matter of children, and one speaks to them calmly, for "the words of the wise are spoken with calm."

I am enclosing the report of my words to the talmidim* who came to see me at Chanukah. They concern all Yidden*, whose mission is defined by the verse: "You shall be for Me a kingdom of kohanim* and a holy nation." Each Yid must consider that he is a kohen, charged with revealing kedushah* in himself and in his family.

You are, moreover, a chassid*, and you therefore have the assurance of the Alter Rebbe[2], in the merit of the mesirus nefesh* to which he bore witness. He promised that by acting to strengthen Torah and mitzvos*, one would have success.
