To the rav*, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,
I am enclosing a letter[2], addressed to all, which is destined for several talmidim*[3]. For time does not permit me to reply personally to each one. You will therefore kindly read it to them, specifying to them beforehand that they must consider it as a personal reply, to each of those who put this question to me.
Of course, if you think that an explanation is necessary, I rely on your judgment to express it in the terms that will best suit.

... הנני מסגיר פה... מכ' כללי לכמה מהתלמידים, אשר כיון שאין הזמן גרמא לענות לכאו"א בפרט, הנה מטובו לקרות זה לפניהם, אחרי ההקדמה שזהו מענה ג"כ פרטי לכאו"א השואלים כגון זה, ובטח אם יראה שצריך בזה ביאור, הנה אל בינתו אשען אשר ימצא האותיות המתאימות לזה.
