By the grace of Hashem,

May there be peace upon this distinguished man, pillar of
Torah, column of light, one of those who know elevation,
who surpasses all others, who wears a great crown of
gold, the rav*, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rabbi Yisroel Abuchatzeira[1], formerly chief rabbi of the
community of Erfoud and its region[2], currently in
Eretz Yisroel,

Greetings and blessings,

On the occasion of your settling in our Eretz HaKodesh* — may it be rebuilt and restored by our righteous Moshiach, very soon, Amen, may such be His Will — I wish that your arrival be blessed by Hashem.

Hashem guides the steps of man, and He has granted you the merit of going to our Eretz HaKodesh. Assuredly, Divine Providence has entrusted you there with a particular mission. You must instill vitality into our brothers, the Sefardim, strengthen them in Torah and mitzvos* in general, guide their children in particular, so that they may not turn aside, may not fall into the trap of an education without values, chas veshalom*.

You must keep a vigilant eye over them. All the boys and girls, without exception, must be educated in Torah and mitzvos, with yiras Shamayim* and according to the tradition of our holy rebbeim*, in schools permeated with kedushah*.

Thanks to your efforts and your mesirus nefesh* to bring this mission to fruition, Hashem will grant you long days, good and pleasant years. Age will increase your wisdom and your strengths. And you will have success in your great work, the object of which is to enlarge and to strengthen Torah, as well as in your personal concerns, moral and physical, with the greatest largesse.

לרגלי עלותו לארצנו הקדושה, תבנה ותכונן על ידי משיח צדקנו בעגלא דידן אכי"ר, יהא בואו ברוך לה'.

מה' מצעדי גבר כוננו, ומכיון שזיכהו הקב"ה לעלות לארצנו הקדושה ת"ו, הנה בטח העמיסה עליו ההשגחה העליונה תפקיד מיוחד על אדמת הקדש, להיות רוח חי' בקרב אחב"י הספרדים, ולהשפיע עליהם בחיזוק התורה והמצוה בכלל, ובפרט אשר ישמרו על בניהם וטפם לבל יהיו לבז ולא יפלו ברשת חינוך של הפקר ר"ל, אלא ישמרו עליהם בעינא פקיחא, אשר כלם, בניהם ובנותיהם בלי יוצא מן הכלל , יתחנכו על ברכי התורה והמצוה ביראת שמים ומסורת אבותינו הק' במוסדות חינוך המתנהלים על טהרת הקדש.

ובזכות עבודתו למילוי תפקידו זה במסירת נפש, יאריך השי"ת ימיו ושנותיו בטוב ובנעימים ועוד ינובון בשיבה דשנים ורעננים יצליח בעבודתו כבירה להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה ובעניניו הפרטים מנפש ועד בשר די והותר.
