Greetings and blessings,

A) I read with pleasure that the study of nigleh* was more enthusiastic[2], and that the visit of the great rav devoted to communal needs, Rav E. K.[3], and the inquiry that he conducted on this nigleh, had been useful.

If at all times one is hungry and thirsty for good news, how much more so at the present hour, especially when these concern Torah and mitzvos*.

B) You speak to me of the desire of the talmidim*[4] to come here. Perhaps their arguments are justified, but they remain particular and concern only certain people. The yeshiva and the institutions must seek their own good, which, consequently, will also be that of their talmidim[5].

It is therefore necessary to strive to develop these institutions. For this they must be capable of showing the talmidim they have formed. And, one cannot be content with announcing that the older talmidim have been sent to another country, as I have already written in my previous letters dealing with this subject.

C) You propose that talmidim from here come to pursue their studies in institutions of Eretz HaKodesh*. For the moment, this would entail great difficulties, all the more so as they are accustomed here to a certain comfort. Not all the parents are satisfied with the chinuch* they receive in the Lubavitch institutions.

But the moment will come for this. Perhaps, with time, this will be possible.

D) You tell me that you read my letter[6], addressed to a few talmidim, regarding plowing and planting, before all the other talmidim. Perhaps it would be good to distribute it likewise in the other classes of the yeshiva at Lod.

Concerning plowing and planting, it will be necessary to add a few references and a few additional explanations there, which figure in Likkutei Torah Beshalach, at the beginning of chapter 4, Shir HaShirim 38b, in the maamarim* hemshech Mayim Rabbim, from chapter 98, and in other texts.

I await your good news, for all that has just been said.

... ב) נהניתי לקרות ע"ד הרמת רוח לימוד הנגלה וע"ד התועלת שרואה מביקורו והבחינה בנגלה של הרה"ג עוסק בצ"צ וכו' מוהרא"ק שי' ואם בכל זמן היו רעבים וצמאים לקראת בשו"ט עאכו"כ בזמנים אלו ובפרט בענין הקשור בתומ"צ.

ג) מ"ש בענין תשוקת התלמידים לנסוע לכאן, הנה אף כי אולי צודקים בטענותיהם מצד עצמם, אבל בכ"ז הרי זה טענת יחיד ופרט, ועל הישיבה והמוסדות להשתדל בטובת המוסד, אשר בד"מ יהי' טוב גם כן לתלמידי המוסדות ובהתאם לזה צריכים להשתדל ביותר בצמיחת המוסד, ובמילא מוכרח הדבר שיוכלו להראות ולומר ראו גדולים שגדלתי, ולא להסתפק בהודעה זו, אשר התלמידים הגדולים נסעו למדינה אחרת וכו' וכמו שכתבתי כבר במכ' הקודמים בענין זה.

ד) בנוגע להצעתו שתלמידים מכאן יסעו ללמוד במוסדי אה"ק ת"ו הנה לע"ע קשור הדבר בקישויים גדולים, ובפרט שהתלמידים דכאן מורגלים בנוחיות כאלו וכו' ולא כל ההורים שבעי רצון בלא"ה מחנוכם בליובאוויטש, אבל עוד חזון למועד, ואולי במשך הזמן יבוא עת גם לזה.

ה) כיון שכותב שמכתבי לאחדים מהתלמידים ע"ד חרישה וזריעה, קרא זה גם בפני שאר התלמידים, אולי כדאי שיפרסמו ג"כ בשאר הכתות בישיבת לוד, ובענין חרישה וזריעה להוסיף מראה מקומות (ושם נמצא ג"כ תוס' ביאור) והוא בלקו"ת בשלח רפ"ד.
