Greetings and blessings,

Following our telephone conversation, I had the impression that you have not grasped the importance of preserving your health in general, and of eating cake before tefillah*[1] in particular. I therefore reproduce here a word of the Baal Shem Tov, printed in the Kesser Shem Tov.

Moreover, you no doubt know that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, recalled at the last chassidic farbrengens* the necessity for a chassid* to study the Kesser Shem Tov and the Or Torah of the Maggid of Mezeritch.

Now, the Kesser Shem Tov, vol. 1 p. 17 of the edition in my possession, says: "When the body is sick, the soul is also weakened, and one cannot daven properly, even if one has not committed sins. A man must therefore scrupulously preserve the health of his body."

I extend to you my brachah* that you be in good health and able to convey good news to me. You no doubt remember what we spoke of. You must therefore approach the Sefardim of your city so that they may bring their help to our work in Morocco[2].

שלום וברכה!

כבר מזמן לא שמעתי ממנו ,ומעניין אותי לדעת ,ראשית ,כיצד מרגיש

הוא וגם זוגתו שיחיו ,וגם אודות מה שדברנו כשהי׳ אצלי ,אודות הבית עם

השכנים וכו׳ וגם אודות הצד הרוחני ,בנוגע להשפעה על הצאצאים ברוח

מה שדברנו.

רצוני בזה לשוב ולחזור על דברי ,כפי ששמעתי מחמי כ״ק אדמו״ר

זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע ,וכפי שרואים זאת גם בעיני בשר ,הרי אין שום

ספק ,שכאשר מדברים פעם ,פעמיים ויותר ,הרי סוף כל סוף פועלים ,לכל

הפחות באופן חלקי ,ובפרט כאשר מדברים עם הצאצאים ובדרך שלום הרי

דברי חכמים בנחת נשמעים.

מצו״ב רשימה ,מה שאמרתי לפני התלמידים כשנכנסו אלי בחנוכה

שחלף ,אך הדברים שייכים לכל היהודים ,כי כל עבודתם של יהודים היא

ככתוב ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש ,שכל יהודי צריך לראות עצמו

ככהן ,שענינו להמשיך קדושה בעצמו ובפרט במשפחתו ,ובהיותו חסיד יש לו

גם את ההבטחה מאדמו״ר הזקן ,שאמר שבזכות המסירות נפש שלו ,הרי

כאשר יעשו בענין של תורה ומצוות בודאי יצליחו.
