To the rav*, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Yaakov[1], the shochet*,

Greetings and blessings,

I thank you for your telegram on the occasion of the "yom tov of all yomim tovim"*, the 19th of Kislev. Enclosed is a copy of my letter, addressed to all, on this occasion.

I am certain that with the arrival in your city of the great rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Mordechai HaKohen[2], you too are strengthening yourself in your positive activities, in the influence you exert on those around you, in order to bring hearts close to "the candle that is a mitzvah* and the Torah that is light," as well as to the luminary of Torah, which is Chassidus*.

According to what is said in Torah Or, at the beginning of Parshas Bechukosai, and cited by Rashi in his commentary on the Torah: when one doubles the number of people who work, one multiplies the mitzvos by much more than two. For a few people who act are in no way comparable to a large number. I hope to have good news on this matter.

וע"פ מ"ש בתו"כ ר"פ בחקותי, הובא בפרש"י עה"ת שם, הנה כשמספר העובדים נתרבה בכפלים, הרי העבודה ופעולת המצות נגדלים יותר מאשר פי שנים, כי אינו דומה מועטים העושים למרובים העושים, ואקוה לבשו"ט בזה.
