Greetings and blessings,

In reply to your letter of 20 Kislev. I sent you a telegram whose text was as follows: "Concerning the fund for the Shemittah*[1] of the Jewish Agency[2], one must refer to what Dr. Shwartz[3] said to Gorodetski[4], who is currently visiting the Holy Land. With my blessing," followed by my signature.

I am surprised at what you tell me, for Dr. Shwartz was very clear[5]. Perhaps discretion is necessary owing to the many requests, or for similar reasons. But I have good hope that if you meet with Dr. Shwartz and remind him of all this — of course in a friendly and diplomatic manner — he will be able to come to your aid.

It is a pity that you do not speak of the celebration of "the festival of all festivals," Yud-Tes Kislev*, in a more precise manner. For at times this information is useful to us here, and it is of course also useful in the Holy Land. Proper diffusion in this matter makes it possible to draw people, including those who come from afar, and what is even more important, the immigrant youth.

Enclosed is a copy of my letter on "the festival of all festivals." Kindly diffuse it in a fitting manner, since it is difficult to send it to each one individually.

במענה על מכתבם מכ' כסלו, הנה שלחתי להם מברק וז"ל "ענין קרן השמיטה דסוכנות מיוסד על דברי (ד"ר) שווארץ לגאראדעצקי ומבקר עתה באה"ק, בברכה, חתימתי":

ונפלאתי על הודעתם, כיון שד"ר שווארץ אמר כן בברור. ואולי מעלימים עד"ז שלא ירבו הקופצים, וכיו"ב טעמים כאלו. ותקותי, שבאם יעלה בידם להתראות עם ד"ר שווארץ שי' ויזכירוהו - אבל בנעימות ובאופן דיפלומטי - ע"ד הנ"ל, הנה יוכל לסייע להם בזה...

חבל שאינם מודיעים ע"ד חגיגת חג החגים י"ט כסלו, יותר בפרטיות, כי לפעמים אפשר להשתמש בזה כאן ובטח גם באה"ק ת"ו, והפרסום בזה באופן המתאים ממשיך אנשים גם מחוגים רחוקים, ומה שנוגע עוד יותר בענין - הנוער העולה.

מוסג"פ העתק מכ' בקשר עם חג החגים הוא י"ט כסלו, ובבקשה לפרסמו באופן המתאים, כיון שקשה השילוח לכאו"א בפרט.
