Greetings and blessings,
You let me know that your wife had a son, in a good hour. I therefore extend to you my brachah* — a brachah* of mazal tov*. May you lead him to Torah, to the chuppah*, and to good deeds, with tranquility of mind and body.
You ask me about the name you should give your son. My father-in-law, the Rebbe, indicated, on many occasions, that he did not intervene in this matter. The child will therefore bear, throughout a long life, the name his parents have decided to give him.
I sent you today a telegram, the text of which is the following:
"Mazal tov*. You will choose the name with your wife, and Hashem will bless him with length of days and good years."
With my brachah* of mazal tov*, on the day of our redemption and the liberation of our soul,

במענה על הודעתו אשר זוגתו תחי' ילדה בן למזל טוב, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי ברכת מזל טוב ויגדלוהו לתורה לחופה ולמעשים טובים מתוך מנוחת הנפש ומנוחת הגוף.
ועל שאלתו בענין קריאת שם בנם הנולד שי', הנה כמה פעמים שמעו מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שאין מתערב בזה וכפי שיסכימו ההורים ליתן לו השם זאל זיין לאורך ימים, ושלחתי לו היום מברק וז"ל "מזל טוב יבחרו השם הוא וזוגתו ויברך השי"ת לאורך ימים ושנים טובות".
בברכת מז"ט ביום גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו.
