Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter and your request for a brachah* of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev. You apologize, in particular, for not having written me until now.

I do not know why one should apologize for not having written. Moreover, you decided to write me this time, and yet you do not tell me the essential point — with which you should have begun — that is, the shiurim* you have fixed in the revealed part of Torah and in Chassidus*, as well as the influence you exert upon those around you.

Our Rebbe[1] asks that we be "candles to illuminate." Now, you find yourself in the place "toward which the eyes of Hashem are always turned, from the beginning of the year until the end of the year"[2]. All of this should, there, be still stronger.

In your next letter, you will surely tell me about all of this, and also about what you have accomplished, during the month of liberation[3], the month of Kislev, to spread the wellsprings[4] outward.

With my brachah* that you derive much Yiddishe and Chassidishe nachas* from all your children, and likewise from yourself and your wife,

קבלתי מכתבו עם הפ"נ מאדר"ח כסלו ובו מבקש מחילה על אי כתיבתו עד עתה"

והנה אינני יודע מהו המקום כאן לבקשת מחילה על אי הכתיבה. והשנית מאחר שכבר נתעורר לכתוב, הנה אינו מזכיר את העיקר שבו הי' צריך להתחיל, והוא מענין הקביעות עתים לתורה שיש לו בנגלה ובדא"ח ובהשפעתו על סביבתו, וכלשון תביעות נשיאנו מכאו"א מאתנו להיות נרות להאיר ומכיון שנמצא הוא במקום אשר עיני ה"א בה מרשית שנה עד אחרית שנה, הנה בשם צ"ל כל הענינים ביתר שאת ויתר עז. ובודאי במכתבו הבא יודיע ג"כ ע"ד כל הנ"ל, וגם ע"ד פעולתו בענין הפצת המעיינות חוצה בחדש הגאולה הוא חדש כסלו.

בברכה לרוב נחת אידישן חסידישן נחת מכל ילידיו שי' וחסידישן נחת גם ממנו וזוגתו שיחיו.
