To the great Rav, Chassid* whose yiras Shamayim* is his treasure,

who devotes himself faithfully to the needs of the community,

Greetings and blessings,

For some time I have been receiving regularly, through my representative — the great Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself faithfully to the needs of the community, and multiplies positive accomplishments — news of your devoted activity, whose influence is considerable, within the institutions Oholei Yosef Yitzchok, into which you breathe a spirit of purity and kedushah*.

Moreover, you assist the great Rav and Chassid*, Rav Michoel, in providing for the material needs of the Yeshivah.

A well-known saying[2] of the Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, declares that "the material affairs of a Jew are spiritual." One finds the same thing in the words of the Rambam*, Hilchos Deos*, beginning of chapter 4: "To have a healthy body is among the ways of serving Hashem."

It is impossible to convey how important such an influence is, and I am certain it is needless to elaborate further to one such as yourself.

I therefore wish to encourage you, on the basis of what our Sages* say in the Sifra* at the beginning of Parshas Tzav: that one urges zerizus* only upon those who already possess this quality by nature. You must therefore redouble your fervor and your strength in your sacred mission, to expand and beautify this sacred institution, so that Hashem be praised through it and through us.

I take this opportunity to send you a brochure on Yud-Tes Kislev*[3], which presents the history of this festival, "festival of all festivals," commemorating the liberation and victory of the Alter Rebbe, who gave of himself for Chassidus*, in order to show the children of Israel the path that leads into the house of Hashem — with ahavas Hashem*, ahavas haTorah*, and ahavas Yisroel*.

When we follow in his footsteps by sanctifying ourselves somewhat here below, we shall receive from Hashem an immense sanctification, both materially and spiritually.

In anticipation of the good — and there is no good but Torah and mitzvos*, and the luminary of Torah which is Chassidus* — I wish you success, materially and spiritually.

זה מזמן שהנני מקבל ידיעות לעתים תכופות מב"כ הרה"ג והרה"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ באמונה ר"מ ור"י מוה"ר מיכאל שי' ליפסקאר, מעבודת כת"ר המסורה ונתונה להשפעה נעלית במוסדות הקדש ישיבת אהלי יוסף יצחק אשר משפיע הוא בהמוסד רוח טהרה ורוח קדושה וכן מסייע להרה"ג הרה"ח הר"ר מיכאל שי' הנ"ל בענינים הגשמיים של הישיבה, ומכבר ידוע פתגם כ"ק רבינו הזקן (בעל התניא והשו"ע) אשר גשמיות של איש הישראלי, זהו רוחניות, וכנראה ג"כ ברמב"ם הלכות דיעות רפ"ד, היות הגוף בריא מדרכי השם הוא, וגודל ערך השפעה הנ"ל אין די באר, ומובטחני אשר למר ודכותי' אך למותר הוא להאריך בזה. ולא באתי אלא - נשען על מרז"ל בספרא ר"פ צו, אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין - לזרזו, ולא נצרכה אלא להעדפה להוסיף כח ואומץ בעבודתו הקדושה הנ"ל, ולהגדיל את המוסד הקדוש ולהאדירו, ומני' ומינן יתקלס עילאה.

בהזדמנות זו הנני מסגיר בזה החוברת לי"ט כסלו, בה מסופר פרשת החג, חג החגים י"ט כסלו, השחרור והנצחון של כ"ק רבינו הזקן, אשר מסר נפשו הק' על תורת החסידות, להורות לעם בנ"י הדרך העולה בית אל באהבת השם, אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל.וכאשר נלכה באורחותיו, הרי אדם מקדש עצמו מעט למטה מקדשים אותו הרבה מלמעלה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

המצפה לטוב אין טוב אלא תורה מצוה ומאור שבתורה היא תורת החסידות ומברכו בהצלחה בגו"ר.
