To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem, of remarkable kindness, devoting himself faithfully to communal needs, Rav N.[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter of 28 Tishrei, by which you describe the positive effect that the visit of young talmidim* of the yeshivah had in your synagogue, on Simchas Torah*[2], and the good impression that the members of your community retained of it.

I must add that one must mark even more strongly recognition to these talmidim, who had to show much submission to accept the principle of this visit, for they had to, for this, abandon the farbrengen* that was taking place here, in the presence of all the Chabad Chassidim. These talmidim walked for several hours to go to these synagogues and these batei midrash. Moreover, they did so with joy and good cheer.

May the joy of the "z'man simchaseinu*"[3] in general and of Simchas Torah in particular prolong itself throughout the year, which shall also be joyous. Our Sages observe, indeed, that joy breaks the limits, suppresses the barriers, the contingencies, the veils, and the obstacles that arise in the life of a man or of a woman. It shall therefore be a good year, of a visible and tangible good, materially and spiritually at once.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מכ"ח תשרי, בו מתאר את ההשפעה הטובה של ביקור בחורי חמד תלמידי התמימים בביהכ"נ שלו בשמחת תורה העבר, והרושם שהשאירו על כל המתפללים.

ועלי להוסיף אשר היישר כח המגיע לבחורים הנ"ל עוד הרבה יותר מכפי ההשערה, כי קשור הי' אצלם ביקור זה בקבלת עול ביותר, באשר צריכים היו לעזוב את ההתועדות כאן בתוככי חסידי חב"ד ואנ"ש, ולילך למשך שעות אחדות לבתי הכנסיות ובתי מדרשים, ולא זו בלבד אלא לעשות את כל זה מתוך שמחה ועליצות לב.

ויהי רצון אשר השמחה של זמן שמחתנו בכלל, ושמחת תורה בפרט, תומשך על כל השנה כולה, שתהי' שנת שמחה, ונשען על המאמר הרגיל שמחה פורץ גדר, שיוסרו כל הגדרים וההגבלות ההעלמות וההסתרים שבחיי בני ובנות ישראל, ותהי' שנה טובה ומתוקה בטוב הנראה והנגלה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
