To the sons and daughters of Israel residing in Brighton Beach, to whom Hashem shall grant long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I was pleased to learn that a committee for taharas hamishpachah* has been formed in Brighton Beach, with the goal of building a good mikveh* in this neighborhood.

The perpetuity of each individual and of the entire community alike, in its moral dimension as in its physical existence, is conditioned by the observance of the principles of taharas hamishpachah.

The existence of a good mikveh in each neighborhood, which offers every woman the possibility of observing the laws of taharas hamishpachah without too much difficulty, is an absolute necessity. No obstacle must delay its construction.

One must therefore do everything so that this mikveh sees the light of day as quickly as possible. Our Sages say that "he who preserves a Jewish soul is considered as if he had saved the entire world." To delay this construction, even by some time, would be a very heavy responsibility.

I therefore address a request to all those who have the possibility of bringing their assistance to this realization, in particular to the Jews residing in Brighton Beach. They must, with all their enthusiasm, participate in the collection that will permit the gathering of the funds necessary for this construction.

I also have good hope that the rabbanim, the synagogue presidents, and the local leaders will not cease their action until the doors of this mikveh shall have opened, in the very near future.

May the merit of this great mitzvah* protect each and every one of those who shall take part in it. The Almighty shall grant them the satisfaction of all their needs, children, health, and material prosperity.
