To the Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem, Rav Chaim[1], the shochet*,

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter of 19 Elul and I learned with pleasure that you organized a farbrengen* on Chai Elul*. The description that you give of it shows how true is the affirmation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that it suffices to begin to act in order to immediately perceive its fruits. It is therefore important to set to work, without being affected by the number of persons with whom one initially has to deal[2]. Undoubtedly, there will be more and more, subsequently.

You ask me whether you should accept this position of shochet. I have good hope that, if you firmly maintain your demand to arrange the shechitah* of large animals[3], it will be possible for you to obtain it, all the more so since, as you write, the Rav is on your side. As long as this evolution is not effective, it seems to me that you must remain shochet only for poultry.

Bli neder*, I shall mention, before Rosh Hashanah, by the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, all those whom you mention in your letter.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for good and for blessing, I address my brachah* to you, as well as to the members of your family, that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, both materially and spiritually.

שלום וברכה!

קבלתי מכתבו מי"ט אלול, ונהניתי לקרות בו ע"ד ההתועדות שסידר בח"י אלול, ומתאורו גופא יכולים לראות עד כמה כנים הם דברי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, שבאם רק מתחילים בעבודה ופועל בטוח הוא שיפעלו, ורק צריכים לגשת אל העבודה ולא להתפעל מכמות האנשים שבתחלה, לפי שבמשך הזמן מספרם בודאי יתרבה.

בדבר שאלתו בענין קבלת משרת שו"ב, אקוה שבאם יעמוד בחוזק הראוי יפעול ההטבה ג"כ בשחיטת גסות שתהי' כדבעי, ובפרט כפי שכותב שהרב על צדו הוא, וכל זמן שלא תוקן זה הנה לדעתי לעת עתה יהי' על שחיטת עופות.

את כל אלו שמזכיר במכתבו, אזכירם בל"נ על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, לפני ר"ה הבע"ל.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולב"ב שיחיו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
