B'ezras Hashem,

23 Elul 5711,

To the great Rav, Chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself faithfully to communal needs, Rav Dov Yehuda[1],

and all those who participated with him[2],

on this luminous day of Chai Elul,

upon whom Hashem should bestow long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I read with pleasure your letter by which you inform me of the farbrengen* that took place on Chai Elul*. You read at it sichos* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. Doubtless you also encouraged the feelings of ahavas Yisroel*, ahavas haTorah*, and ahavas Hashem*, all of which are one.

Such is the content of the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov* and the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Shulchan Aruch* and the Tanya*, both born on Chai Elul. And, may Hashem grant that each of them put into practice the good resolutions, concerning Torah and mitzvos*, taken on this day.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for good and for blessing, I address my brachah* to you, as well as to the members of your family, that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, both materially and spiritually.

שלום וברכה!

בנועם קראתי מכתבו, בו מודיע אשר עשו התועדות ח"י אלול, וקראו שיחות הקדש מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובטח היתה ג"כ התעוררות לאהבת ישראל, אהבת התורה ואהבת השי"ת, אשר כולא חד, ונתגלה זה ע"י כ"ק מורנו הבעש"ט וכ"ק מורנו אדמו"ר הזקן בעל השו"ע והתניא, שיום ההולדת שלהם הוא ביום ח"י אלול, ויה"ר מהשי"ת שכאו"א מאתנו יגשם בפועל את כל ההחלטות הטובות בתורה ומצות.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לו ולב"ב שיחיו לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
