To the Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem, Rav Yosef HaKohen[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 13 Elul.

I was pleased to learn that the state of health of ... has improved. May Hashem grant that you inform me of good news always and every day. He must be told that he will strengthen himself even more by maintaining his study of Torah, in general, and that of Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*, as my father-in-law, the Rebbe, requests, in particular. Thus he will arouse and obtain good health and the satisfaction of all his needs, material and spiritual.

You tell me that you are seeking to broaden the number of talmidim*[2], but that you cannot accept them, for lack of room. I am very pained by this, and you will surely find the means not to disappoint the parents. A means must be found to receive these talmidim.

You tell me that you teach Mishnah* with a punctuated text translated into Yiddish. Now, some contest this practice. Nevertheless, this edition received the assent of the great Rav Meir Arik and that of the great Rav Avraham Steinberg. It is clear that such rabbinic authorities would not have given their agreement to an imperfect work. I do not understand the meaning of these objections.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ג אלול:

ת"ח על הבשו"ט שהוטב מצב בריאות... כן יבשר בשו"ט תכה"י, ויש לעורר את...

הנ"ל להוסיף כח בשמירת השיעורים בכלל, ושיעורי חומש תהלים ותניא כתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, בפרט, שזה יהי' הצנור להמשכת וקבלתו בריאות הנכונה וכל המצטרך לו בגו"ר.

מה שכותב, שמבקשים להתקבל עוד תלמידים, ואי אפשר לקבלם מפני חוסר המקום, נצטערתי במאד מאד עד"ז, ובטח ימצאו עצה שלא להשיב את פני ההורים ריקם, אלא למצוא מקום נוסף לתלמידים הנוספים.

בנוגע למ"ש בלימוד משניות מנוקד ויש בו ג"כ פירוש עברי טייטש, ושיש מערערים ע"ז, הנה כיון שיש על המשניות הסכמת הרה"ג ר' מאיר אריק ז"ל וכן הסכמת הרה"ג ר' אברהם שטיינבערג הנה חזקה על רבני ישראל שכמותם שלא הוציאו דבר שאינו מתוקן מתחת ידם, ואין אני יודע הטעם לפקפוקים בזה.

בברכת כוח"ט לשנה טובה ומתוקה ופ"ש כל החורה שיחיו.
