B'ezras Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter of Sunday, in which you tell me that you are, baruch Hashem*, all in good health, and you ask me for a brachah for your son, who is in military service.

When I find myself by the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I shall mention his name, for the fulfillment of his request.

It is surely unnecessary to emphasize to you that you must encourage your son to put on tefillin* every day, except on Shabbos and Yamim Tovim*. If he cannot do so in the morning, he can fulfill this mitzvah throughout the day, until sunset. Thus, Hashem will protect him and he will remain whole.

It is you who serve as the chazzan* on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and I therefore wish to remind you of what my father-in-law, the Rebbe, wished. He advised the chazzanim, in general, and those of the Yamim Nora'im*, in particular, to know the meaning of the tefillos* and the piyutim*.

He also insisted that one immerse in the mikveh*, at least on the eve of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Obviously, all this is in addition to the laws and principles expressed by the Shulchan Aruch*, of which it is, of course, unnecessary to emphasize the importance.

Your donation has been transmitted to the office of discreet works, which assists individuals and institutions, in a confidential manner and without making it publicly known, so as not to cause them harm. May the merit of this tzedakah* protect you, as well as the members of your family, so that you all be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year.

בטח למותר לזרז אותו ,שיורה לבנו ,שישמור להניח תפילין כל יום

)חוץ משבת ויום טוב( ואם אין באפשרותו להניח את התפילין בבוקר,

שיעשה זאת במשך כל היום עד שקיעת השמש ,והשי״ת ישמור עליו שיהי׳

בקשר לזה שהוא ]הנמען[ ש״ץ בראש השנה ויום הכפורים בפרט,

רצוני לעורר אודות מה שכ״ק מו״ח אדמו׳׳ר רצה ,שאלו המתפללים כשליח

ציבור לפני העמוד ,ובפרט ימים נוראים ,יעיינו בפירוש המלות וגם בפירוש

הפיוטים.

וגם שלכל הפחות בערב ראש השנה וערב יום כפור יטבלו עצמם במקוה.

מובן מאליו שזהו בנוסף לדינים וענינים שישנם בשולחן ערוך,

שעליהם מיותר לזרז.

נדבתו נמסרה ללשכת חשאין המסייעת ליחידים ומוסדות ,בסתר ללא

פרסום ,כדי לא להזיק להם .וזכות הצדקה תעמוד לו ולבני ביתו שי׳ שתהי׳

לכולכם כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה.
