Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1176 — Faith & Bitachon

By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of the 3rd of Menachem Av, in which you discuss your wife's state of health, and to which a request for a berachah was attached.

Being last week at the Ohel* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I read this request for a berachah, and I am entirely convinced that you will give me good news, telling me that your wife is doing better. Hashem will grant that the pregnancy proceed well, that she give birth in its time and easily, a child in good health. Then, with your other children, you will lead him to Torah, to chuppah*, and to maasim tovim*.

Obviously, what I have written you about the conduct to adopt in general, and what must be done to restore shalom bayis* in particular, must be the focus of all your efforts[1]. This is especially true for the latter point, which calls for resolve and diligence.

Each evening, before going to bed, you will recite — bli neder* — the kapitel* "Lamnatzeach Mizmor LeDavid Yaancha Hashem"[2]. When you have read it through completely, you will repeat once more the pasuk* "Yaancha Hashem" and you will ask Hashem to take it into account as if you had thought of all the deep implications of these words.

With my berachah that you announce to me good news, and that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, together with all the members of your family,

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מג' מנ"א, בו מודיע ע"ד מצב בריאות זוג' שתי' ומוסג"ב ג"כ פ"נ בעדה.

בהיותי על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ בשבוע העבר קראתי הפ"נ, ובטחוני חזק שיבשרני בשורות טובות מהטבת מצב בריאות זוג' תי', והשי"ת ימלא את הריונה ותוליד בעתו זרעא חייא וקיימא כשורה ובנקל, ויגדלוהו ביחד עם שאר ילידיהם שי' לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים.

מובן מעצמו שמה שכתבתי לו בענין הנהגה בכלל ושלום בית בפרט, צריך להשתדל בזה, ובפרט בענין השלום בית, בתוקף ובהתעמקות יתרה. כן בלי נדר יאמר בכל לילה קודם קריאת שמע קאפיטל למנצח יענך, ואחר שיגמרנו כולו, יחזור עוה"פ על הפסוק יענך ויחשוב בשעת מעשה שיה"ר כאילו כיוון כל הכוונות השייכות לזה.
