To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Zalman Shimon[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I am replying to your letter of Tuesday of Parshas Re'eh.

I learned with pleasure that you have established a daily public shiur* in the Shulchan Aruch* of the Alter Rebbe*. There is doubtless also a shiur in Chassidus* which is likewise daily and public, and not only on Shabbos, as you say in your letter.

Please convey my regards to all the kehillah*. I enclose an excerpt from the sichah*[2] delivered at the farbrengen* of Shabbos Mevarchim*[3] Elul. You will surely make it available to the entire kehillah.

With my berachah that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

What has become of your zichronos*, from the year 5680[4] onward, which you had written down?

נהניתי ממה שמזכיר בסוף מכ' שעשו קביעות ברבים בלימוד שו"ע רבינו בכל יום, ובודאי יש להם לימוד ברבים בדא"ח בכל יום, ולא רק בש"ק שמזכיר במכתבו.

מטובו לפרוש בשלום כל החבורה שיחיו, והנני מסג"פ קטע משיחת ההתועדות דש"מ אלול, ובבקשה לזכות בזה את כל חבורתו שי'.
